Motion graphics designer in Philadelphia

Motion ads, animated social posts, logo stings, teasers and Reel graphics, built in After Effects for Instagram and TikTok. I'm Paul Vu, a Philly creative director who designs the still and the motion version together, so everything moves like your brand.

Quaker City Motor Sport motion ad frame designed by Paul Vu

[ Motion work ]

Made to move.

A motion ad for Quaker City Motor Sport, Reels and a giveaway teaser for Pristine Home Care, and a looping 3D animation made in Blender. Tap a video for sound.

[ The short version ]

Movement gets the stop.

In a feed full of still images, movement is the fastest way to stop a thumb. But motion only works if the message lands in the first second, reads without sound and still looks like your brand.

I design the static and motion versions of a piece together, from the same files. The logo, type and colors stay exactly on brand, and the animation is built around one idea instead of effects for the sake of effects.

Motion graphics also come built into my social media management service, so animated posts show up in your feed every month.

[ What I make ]

Motion for the feed.

[ What works ]

Four rules for motion that works.

The first second is the ad. The hook, the product or the offer shows up before anyone decides to scroll.

Design for sound off. Most people watch muted, so every line that matters is on screen as text or captions.

One idea per piece. A single clear message, moved well, beats five messages fighting for attention.

Make every size on purpose. A 9:16 Reel, a 4:5 feed post and a 1:1 ad are laid out separately so nothing important gets cropped. More in ad creative that converts.

[ FAQ ]

Good questions

What motion graphics do you make?

Motion ads for Meta and TikTok, animated social posts, kinetic type and captions for Reels, logo stings, promo and event teasers, stop motion and 3D loops. Everything is built for the feed, in the sizes each platform needs.

What software do you use?

After Effects for motion graphics, Photoshop and Illustrator for the artwork, and Blender for 3D and motion. Stills and animation come from the same files, so the static and moving versions match.

Can you animate my logo?

Yes. A short logo sting works as an intro or outro for Reels, ads and videos, and I design it to read in the first second, sound on or off.

Do you make motion ads for Instagram and TikTok?

Yes. I build motion ads in 9:16, 4:5 and 1:1 with the hook in the first second and the offer readable without sound. See the ad campaigns I've made for Philly businesses.

Can you animate graphics I already have?

Usually, yes. Layered Photoshop or Illustrator files are ideal. Flat images and logos can be rebuilt in layers before they're animated.

Do you do 3D animation?

Yes. I model, light and animate in Blender. My 3D car renders include a looping animation, and the same approach works for products.

Do you do stop motion?

Yes. At Gopuff I built stop-motion content for the app and social. See the Gopuff project.

Can motion graphics be part of a monthly social plan?

Yes. Motion graphics are built into my social media management service, so animated posts and Reel graphics show up every month alongside carousels and video.

What do you need from me to start?

Your logo and brand files, any footage or photos, the platforms and sizes you need, and the one message each piece has to land. A rough idea or a reference you like helps too.

Do you work with clients outside Philadelphia?

Yes. Motion work is fully remote, so I work with brands anywhere.

How do I get started?

Send what you need animated through the contact form. You'll get a proposal with the scope, deliverables and timeline.
