Web design & SEO in Philadelphia
Websites that look like your brand and get found on Google and in AI search, built from scratch or on WordPress, Webflow, Framer, Shopify, Wix or Squarespace. I'm Paul Vu, a Philadelphia designer who handles the design, the build and the SEO, so nothing gets lost between them.

[ The short version ]
A site that looks good and gets found.
Most small business websites fail in one of two ways. Some look great but say almost nothing, so Google has nothing to rank. Others are stuffed with keywords and look like a template, so the people who find them don't trust them.
I do both halves. I design the brand and the site, write the pages around what your customers actually search for, and handle the SEO setup most designers skip: titles, descriptions, page structure, speed, image names, internal links, structured data, Search Console and your Google Business Profile.
The platform matters less than people think. What ranks is clear pages, real answers and a clean setup, and that works on any of them. My SEO checklist shows the basics every site needs.
[ Platforms ]
Any platform. Built right.
Custom-built
Designed and coded from scratch when a template can’t do the job. Full control, fast and built for SEO from the first line.
WordPress
The most flexible option for content-heavy sites and blogs, with WooCommerce for stores. Theme design, custom builds and SEO setup.
Webflow
Design-led sites with clean code and a visual editor your team can use. Great for marketing sites and landing pages.
Framer
Fast, animated, modern sites for startups, apps and portfolios, with SEO settings configured properly from the start.
Shopify
Online stores built to sell: product pages, collections, photography and ecommerce SEO for products and categories.
Wix
Easy to update yourself. I design the site and set up the SEO so it isn’t held back by the default settings.
Squarespace
Clean, reliable and simple to manage, with hosting and security handled. Ideal for service businesses and creatives.
Already have a site?
Keep your platform and fix what’s holding it back: an SEO audit, a redesign or a move to a better fit, without losing rankings.
[ What I do ]
Built to be found.
01 / The site
Website design & development
New sites, redesigns and landing pages, designed around your brand and built mobile-first on the platform that fits. One clear page per service, fast-loading images and a layout that turns visitors into calls, bookings and sales.
- Custom websites from scratch
- Redesigns & rebuilds
- Landing pages
- Ecommerce sites
- Launch & handoff
02 / The checkup
SEO audits & on-page SEO
A full pass on what Google sees: titles and descriptions for every page, headings, URLs, thin or duplicate pages, images and alt text, internal links and content gaps against your competitors. You get a clear, prioritized list, and I can make every fix.
- SEO audits
- Keyword research
- Titles & descriptions
- Content gaps
- Competitor analysis
03 / Under the hood
Technical SEO
The setup that decides whether Google can crawl, index and trust your site: speed and Core Web Vitals, mobile layout, sitemaps, redirects, canonical tags and structured data, plus Search Console so you can see what's working.
- Site speed & Core Web Vitals
- Structured data (schema)
- Redirects & migrations
- Sitemaps & indexing
- Search Console setup
04 / The neighborhood
Local SEO
For businesses that serve Philly: Google Business Profile setup, real service and area pages, consistent directory listings and a plan for reviews. My local SEO guide walks through it.
- Google Business Profile
- Service & area pages
- Directory listings
- Review strategy
- LocalBusiness schema
05 / The new front page
AI search visibility
Getting recommended by ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews without the hype: answer-first pages, FAQs, a consistent identity across the web and schema that matches the page. See what actually matters.
- Answer-first pages
- FAQ sections
- Entity & profile cleanup
- Schema markup
- Monthly prompt checks
06 / The words
SEO content & ongoing care
Service pages, FAQs and blog guides written and designed around real searches, plus monthly care after launch: new content, technical checks and reporting. This is the work that keeps bringing people in.
- Service page copy
- Blog guides & FAQs
- Blog covers & graphics
- Monthly SEO care
- Reporting
[ What a full setup includes ]
Nothing skipped.
One page per service. Each service gets its own page with the service and the city in the title, real work, clear next steps and an FAQ, instead of one crowded services page that ranks for nothing.
Hand-written titles and descriptions. Every page gets its own, written for the search it should win.
Fast and mobile-first. Compressed images, clean layouts and checks against Google's Core Web Vitals, because most of your visitors are on a phone.
Structured data that matches the page. Business, service, FAQ, article and product schema where they fit, so search engines and AI tools understand exactly what you offer.
Redirects and cleanup. Old URLs pointed to the right new pages, duplicates removed and orphan pages linked, so nothing you've already earned gets lost.
Search Console and Business Profile. Connected, verified and checked after launch, with new pages submitted for indexing.

[ FAQ ]
Good questions
What platforms do you build websites on?
All the main ones: custom-coded sites built from scratch, WordPress, Webflow, Framer, Wix, Squarespace and Shopify. I'll recommend the one that fits your business, your budget and who will update the site after launch, not the one that's easiest for me.
Which website platform is best for SEO?
Any of them can rank. What matters far more is what's on the pages and how they're set up. WordPress and custom builds give the most control, Webflow and Framer are fast and design-friendly, Shopify is built for selling, and Wix and Squarespace are the easiest to update yourself. See my SEO checklist for what every platform needs.
Can you build a website from scratch?
Yes. For businesses that need something a template can't do, I design and build custom sites and web apps from scratch, with clean code, fast load times and SEO built into the structure from day one.
Can you redesign or move my site without losing my Google rankings?
Yes, that's planned before anything moves. I map every old URL to its new one, set up 301 redirects, keep the content and titles that already rank, and check Search Console after launch so nothing important drops out.
Can you fix SEO on a website I already have?
Yes, on any platform. Most projects start with an audit: titles and descriptions, page structure, thin or duplicate pages, speed, images, internal links, structured data and Search Console. You get a clear list of fixes, and I can make them for you.
Do you guarantee first-page rankings?
No, and be careful with anyone who does. Nobody controls Google. What I can promise is a site built the way Google says it wants sites built: clear pages for each service, real answers, fast and mobile-friendly, with the technical setup done right, so you have the best shot at ranking.
How long does SEO take to work?
Google usually finds and indexes changes within days to weeks, especially when we request indexing in Search Console. Rankings for competitive Philadelphia searches tend to build over months, as content, reviews and links add up.
Do you do SEO for online stores?
Yes. Ecommerce SEO covers product and category pages, product photos and descriptions, structured data for products, site speed and duplicate pages from filters and variants, on Shopify, WooCommerce and other platforms.
What is AI search optimization?
It's making sure tools like ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews can understand and recommend your business. Google says there are no special tricks required: clear pages, direct answers, consistent information about you and proof that others talk about you. More in how to show up in ChatGPT and AI search.
Do you set up Google Business Profile?
Yes. For local businesses, I set up or clean up your Business Profile, categories, services, photos and description, and connect it to your website and service pages. See my local SEO guide for Philly businesses.
Do you write the content too?
Yes. I write and design service pages, FAQs and guides around what your customers actually search for. You review everything, and I can work from your notes or a short interview so it sounds like you.
Can you also do the branding and photos?
Yes, and that's the advantage of one person doing all of it. The same designer handles your brand identity, photography and website, so the site looks like your brand instead of a template.
Do you offer ongoing SEO or website care?
Yes. After launch I can keep going monthly: new pages and guides, technical checks, Search Console and Business Profile reviews, and updates as Google and AI search change.
Do you work with businesses outside Philadelphia?
Yes. Web design and SEO are fully remote, so I work with businesses anywhere. Local SEO work is strongest for the Philadelphia area, where I know the market.
How do I get started?
Send your site link (or your idea) and goals through the contact form. You'll get a proposal with the scope, deliverables and timeline.
